The Muscogee County Board of Education has tentatively adopted a millage rate that will require an increase in property taxes by 0.05 percent.
All concerned citizens are invited to the public hearings on this tax increase. The hearings are to be held in the Board Room on the 1st floor of the Board of Education, 2960 Macon Road on the following dates and times: Monday, June 10, 2019 at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 10, 2019 at 5:00 p.m., and Monday, June 24, 2019 at 6:00 p.m.
This tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 23.321 mills, an increase of 0.011 mills. Without this tentative tax increase, the millage rate will be no more than 23.310 mills. The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $125,000 is approximately $.40 cents and the proposed tax increase for non-homestead property with a fair market value of $175,000 is approximately $.77 cents.
The millage rate for 2019 will be set at a meeting held in the Board Room on the 1st floor of the Board of Education, 2960 Macon Road on Monday, June 24, 2019 at 6:00 p.m.
