District students selected for State Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council

MEDIA RELEASE
Columbus, GA – In a recent announcement from the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE), six Muscogee County School District were named to serve on State School Superintendent Richard Woods’ Student Advisory Council. The students were selected from a pool of more than 1,000 applicants throughout the state. A total of 130 students will serve on the council.

The Student Advisory Council consists of middle and high school students who will meet with Superintendent Woods to discuss the impact of state policies on the classroom. In addition, they will focus on issues related to education, serve as the Superintendent’s ambassadors to their respective schools, and participate in service projects that benefit schools and students.
