Columbus, GA- In a recent release provided by the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE), two District fine arts schools have been named as Title I Achievement Awards schools. Each year, GaDOE honors K–12 Title I schools and school districts for significant progress in improving student achievement and/or making significant progress in closing the achievement gap.

Wynnton Arts Academy is recognized among the top ten percent of Title I schools in the state as a Title I Rewards School. The designation is for Title I schools who demonstrate the most progress in improving the performance of their total student population, over the most recent two school years, on the statewide assessments.

Rainey-McCullers School of the Arts is recognized among the top five percent of Targeted Assisted Title I Schools in the state as a Title I Distinguished School (Title I Schoolwide). These schools demonstrate the highest absolute performance of their total student population based on the current statewide assessments.

Title I Distinguished Schools are eligible to apply for the National ESEA Distinguished Schools Program award sponsored by the National Association of ESEA State Program Administrators.

The mission of the Muscogee County School District is to inspire and equip all students to achieve unlimited potential. For more information, please contact the Office of Communications at 706.748.2034 or communications@muscogee.k12.ga.us.
