SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT PLAN 2020-2021: 19-20 LJA School Improvement Plan

Lonnie Jackson Academy (LJA) is a Pre K-5 school serving just over 400 students and promoting academic excellence for all. Through a concentrated effort on developing a high level of reading comprehension, enhanced number sense, and increased character development in a 21^st century class environment, we envision students better equipped for this global society. Our teaching staff is committed to holding students to high academic expectations through the use of student data-binders, making data driven decisions daily by focusing on current assessments, and conducting collegial collaboration for the purpose of selecting high-yield, researched based instructional strategies.

In addition to the resources and strategies used by our teachers to accelerate and remediate learning, we offer a variety of co-curricular experiences including Math Club, Science Olympiads, and Book Club. These activities are provided as an extension of the formal learning in Science, Mathematics, and Reading/Writing.
