The Technology Learning & Support team enhances and fosters teaching and learning by providing unprecedented support and access to the most innovative, collaborative and interactive educational technologies available. Our team is comprised of talented Information Technology and Learning Innovation Professionals whose goal is to provide excellent ongoing technical customer service, constant innovation & solutions, and excellent professional development. Technology Learning & Support includes five teams:

Our mission in the Department of Enterprise Technologies is to provide the technology tools and infrastructure that support student learning and the necessary day-to-day administrative tasks of teachers and administrators. As part of Information Services, we want to provide a level of customer support that exceeds expectations. The role of our department is to support the district-wide or “enterprise” software programs, the network that delivers them, web development, data storage, interfaces and delivery. Below, you can read more about the three talented teams that contribute to this effort each day.

The Technology Support Center (TSC) team serves MCSD staff, students and parents as the remote first point of contact for all Information Technology questions and issues. Customers may contact TSC via telephone and work orders. TSC’s focus is to ensure that all questions and issues are handled effectively and efficiently by resolving at the point of contact or escalating to the appropriate unit.

TSC is comprised of multiple uniquely talented individuals who share a common goal -- to be the first point of contact for information services inquiries and issues. Reliable solutions are delivered through:

• Hardware and software troubleshooting
• Telephone, work order, and remote support
• Monitor services provided by vendor partners
• Coordinate with vendor partners on hardware and software solutions standards and pricing

The Technology Projects (TP) team oversees the planning and management of technology projects within the schools and administrative facilities of Muscogee County School District. The team serves as a lead on new installations and/or major enhancements to existing technology solutions and programs. This is achieved through thoughtful research into existing and emerging technologies to educate stakeholders on possible opportunities for improvement and understanding the varying needs of our populations addressing those needs in a sustainable and supportable means.

The Technology Fiscal Service (TFS) team assists the Division of Information Services in coordinating financial budget obligations, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulatory requirements and overseeing the technology procurement processes. TFS also assists in the division’s budget planning and preparation process. TFS provides a high-level of accountability for financial resources entrusted to us.

The ERP team supports BusinessPlus, the application for all human resource, payroll and financial functions. Our Analysts are focused on supporting, maintaining, and enhancing the BusinessPlus application while collaborating with business and technology partners to accelerate the adoption of automation and utilization of technology embedded in ERP applications.

The Web Development Team supports the web presence which includes the MCSD website and our Data Warehouse. Our developers create unique and custom applications that allow administrators, teachers, and students to meet their goals and objectives.

We believe that providing tools that help automate routine daily functions, assist the classroom teacher, and provide access to information for parents and staff, helps our district fulfill its mission of creating life-long learners. We are privileged to play a role in supporting this goal.

The Technology Support Specialist (TSS) team members are trained IT support professionals who resolve a variety of technical issues by providing technical support, solutions, advice, training, and other high-level customer services to all MCSD locations.

The Data Center Operations Team (DCO) provides the technology framework to support the mission and goals of the entire Muscogee County School District. Our collaborative, service-focused approach to the architecture and engineering of Infrastructure Services, are aligned to ensure that all stakeholders’ interests are taken in account while fostering technology innovation.

Our hybrid cloud services are partnership-focused solutions and processes that are designed to standardize the delivery and support of all IT services regardless of the platform or location.

Infrastructure Operations provides a variety of services to support all schools and the administration, including the maintenance and support of email, collaboration tools, server administration, deployment of applications, and desktop imaging services.

Infrastructure Engineering supports the entire District’s technology environment by providing a network infrastructure based on high availability, confidentiality, and integrity. This unit is responsible for the network architecture, design, implementation, and management of the District’s IT infrastructure at the centralized data center and at schools.

While many of the services delivered by this team are not directly visible to schools or district business units, the group’s efforts are critical to the proper functionality of every classroom and business unit in Muscogee County School District.

The Learning Innovation Specialists (LIS) team provides excellent professional development in support of district initiatives and in partnership with the Department of Teaching and Learning. The LIS team leads, designs, promotes, develops, and supports innovative solutions that facilitate an engaging and positive learning experience for staff, students and parents. The LIS empowers stakeholders to integrate high quality, efficient, and effective concurrent teaching strategies and leading edge solutions.

Support for the Student Information System (SIS), Infinite Campus, includes working daily with school-based staff who use the system for student grades, attendance, Exceptional Students, assessments, and State/Federal Reporting as well as parents and students who use the parent/student portal. The SIS provides student and teacher data to dozens of other district applications used in the classroom and data models that help administrators make the most informed instructional decisions.
